Emission of flower modes from VCSEL arrays

Abstract

An overview is given on the experimental and theoretical evolution of flower shaped supermodes from hexagonal closely packed laser array. These supermodes share a unique quality of preserving their complex aesthetic functional spatial distribution in free space propagation.
