Abstract

The temporal dynamics and energetics of Coulomb explosion of (CD 4)n and (CH4)n (n=55-4213) molecular heteroclusters in ultraintense laser field were discussed. The coupling between electron and nuclear dynamics was studied using molecular dynamics simulation. It was found that the nuclear kinematic effects on heteroclusters Coulomb explosion were governed by the kinetic parameters. Analysis shows that the kinematic effects for nonuniform explosion result in a narrow isotope dependent energy distribution of the light ions.
