Abstract

Observation of threshold switching is reported in AgCl. Subsequent to a forming process, switches are developed from AgCl samples of various crystalline structures. The switching dynamics as well as the relevant electrical properties are characterized. During the forming process Ag dendrites are believed to form by electrolytic process. The principal ON state current channel bridges the dendrites via a thermal or an electronic mechanism.
