Abstract

Experiments and simulations show that the channel bandwidth of a dynamic gainequalizer exerts strong influence on the performance of a nonlinear ULH system. For a 40-channel, 6000-km, 100 GHz-spaced DWDM system with 12.5Gb/s data rate, the optimal bandwidth is near 50 GHz.
