Abstract

A physical mechanistic model for the prediction of pressure drop and flow patterns for the flow of settling slurries in horizontal pipes is presented. The model results were compared with other experimental data and showed satisfactory agreement. Some practical implications on the operation of slurry pipelines are presented. (from paper)
