Abstract

It is shown that there is a high degree of correlation between indices of economic development and indices of computer used. The regularity of this relationship facilitates the forecasting and planning of computer inventories for developing nations. The validity of this approach is enhanced by the similarity of the evolution of computer use in developing countries to that in the developed nations. Thus the past experience of developed countries is a basis for predicting future trends in developing areas.
