Abstract

We demonstrate piecewise memory polynomial based predistorter for WiFi (802.11) applications. EVM of -38dB and ACLR of -35.4dBc were achieved with 2nd order nonlinearity piecewise memory polynomial with a single knot. Experimental results, comparing mask, EVM and nonlinear floor, show on-par performance to 5th order non-piecewise memory polynomial predistorter. The suggested real-time digital predistortion utilizes only 12 multipliers versos 30 of the non-piecewise predistorter, thus lowering the complexity of hardware implementation.
