Abstract
It is shown that diffractive production reactions of the type 3X may serve as a useful source of information on - interactions. An analysis of the available experimental information is made using two simple models for the diffractive production. The results indicate the absence of a strong 3 vertex with a completely symmetric isospin coupling. This suggests that terms do not contribute much more than (0.3-0.4)m-1 to the a0 scattering length.
