Abstract
A new method for rigorously solving nonlinear diffraction problems is described for the case of the diffraction of a plane wave by a metallic comb structure, whose grooves are filled with a nonlinear magnetodielectric material. It is shown that the nonlinearity of the medium leads to a hysteresis-type response for the amplitude, frequency and angular characteristics of the wave reflection-transmission. 12 refs.
