Abstract

Reshaping of a Gaussian laser beam into a uniform intensity distribution (flat-top device) is required for various applications. A new method that reshapes a Gaussian laser beam to diffraction limited size flat-top is presented. The theory and simulations of the proposed technique are described, as well as experimental demonstration using Diffractive Optical Element (DOE) that obtains the ∼ 0.55 diffractive limit region flat-top.
