Abstract

The authors report on 3 therapy regimens for childhood acute lymphocytic leukaemia of the Working group 'Paediatric Haematology and Oncology' of the Paediatric Society of the GDR and the results obtained by these studies. 109 children entered Protocol IV. The 3-year leukaemia-free remission rate is 0.70 in low risk-patients and the 3-year survival rate is 0.74. the 3-year leukaemia-free remission rate is 0.46 in high risk-patients and the 3-year survival rate is 0.51, 3.8% of children died in complete remission. 77 low risk-ptients entered Protocol V. 5.1% of children had not attained remission. The 18-months leukaemia-free remission rate and the survival rate are 0.83 2.5% of patients died in complete remission. 36 high risk-patients received LSA2L2-Protocol (Wollner). 13.8% of children had not attained remission. The 18-months leukaemia-free remission rate is 0.64 and the survival rate is 0.66. No patient died in complete remission.
