Abstract

The universal formal notation along with concept of Algorithmic State Machine (ASM) and Finite State machines (FSM) as a methodological fundamental of the logical control design is discussed. Logic control design teaches the fundamental of synthesis, analysis and decision making using one and the same environment. The modern requirements to the logic control design course include formal methods of design on each stage and a computer based environment for supporting the students' practical work. However, the logical control design enables transforming, uniting, minimizing, and decomposing both ASM and FSM.
