Derivation of Poisson and Nernst-Planck equations in a bath and channel from a molecular model

Abstract

A study of derivation of Poisson and Nernst-Planck equations (CPNP) in a bath and channel from a molecular model was performed. It was observed that the main result was a coupled system of averaged Poisson and NP equation which involved conditional and unconditional charge densities. The conditional densities were closely related to the pair-correlation functions of equilibrium statistical mechanics.
