Abstract
The electroreflectance (ER) of metals with chemisorbed atoms in s-polarized light is examined. The possibility of optical transitions from a filled adatom level close to the Fermi surface into the external medium is taken into account. The threshold behavior of the ER signal is examined as a function of adatom level symmetry.
