Abstract

Rupture of the urinary bladder occurs in 6 to 10% of patients with pelvic fractures (1). Most ruptures are readily diagnosed by a proper contrast cystogram. Some injuries, however, may be minimal at first assessment, escape radiologic detection and, consequently, present late. A few such cases have been reported in the literature (2-4). We report an additional case that presented 11 days after the initial traumatic event, together with pneumaturia and pelvic sepsis.
