Definition of Sobolev, Energy, and Statically Admissible Spaces and Associated Norms

Abstract

To define the family of functions that are said to belong to a Sobolev space, we first need some preliminary definitions which are relatively simple and well known. We address both the heat conduction and elasticity systems in two or three dimensions.
