Abstract
"שום דבר לא הכין את ג'ונס הולי שוטר כפרי פשוט, למה שהתרחש בשיפקוט הכפר שבו נולד. תחילה התגלתה באחד הבתים בכפר גופת קשישה שנרצחה במיטתה, אחר כך נמצאה בנהר גופת אישה מעורערת בנפשה, לבסוף החלו להגיע המכתבים, שהאשימו את הולי כי יכול היה למנוע את מקרי הרצח והבטיחו לו שאם לא ימצא במהירות את הרוצח הרציחות יימשכו". -- מהמעטפת האחורית.
