Abstract

Cyclical patterns which repeat themselves periodically in consumers' purchasing habits are investigated in this paper. The phenomenon is explained and studied empirically using consumers panel data. It is found that most consumers do have a recognizable pattern. Prediction based on cyclical behavior is found to dominate the zero order process.
