Abstract

In-vitro experiments with proteins from mycelium and fruit bodies of Schizophyllum suggest that meiotic cells possess a specific endonuclease activity that operates in trans on native DNA molecules if nicked molecules are included in the reaction. The activity described may define a recombination related meiotic function.
