Abstract

A patient with fracture of the optic canal who demonstrated spontaneous recovery of useful vision following acute visual loss is reported. Acute stretching of the involved optic nerve was demonstrated by CT. The return of the optic nerve (ON) to its normal position coincided with the recovery of vision. The visual evoced response (VER) was the first parameter to herald the good visual outcome.
