Abstract

We propose a new scheme for manipulating optical information by trapping and releasing optical pulses propagating in an array of coupled semiconductor lasers. The manipulation of the optical pulses is achieved directly by changing the pump parameter of the individual lasers. Applications such as optical routing, delay lines and memories are studied in detail.
