Abstract

Two cases of lumbar Chordoma treated surgically are reported. The circumferential excision of the tumour was planned using computed tomography. The resected vertebral body was replaced with a tricortical autologous graft. Posterior simultaneous stabilization of the spinal column was achieved by Cotrel-Dubousset (C-D) instrumentation. The interlocking mode of the system provided an effective stabilization with preservation of the natural sagittal curve and early ambulation.
