Abstract

Wavelet transform is a powerful mathematical tool used in different signal processing applications. For some of these applications it is desirable to know the correlation properties between the components of the transform. In the current work the correlation between the wavelet decomposition components is studied. An expression, which is useful for estimating this correlation for a signal with a given power spectrum, is developed. This procedure for calculating the correlation between the components of the transform is demonstrated by two examples.
