Abstract
The convergence of a Runge-Kutta scheme for the compressible Navier-Stokes equations with a k-ω/SST turbulence model is accelerated by using an implicit smoother. The Runge-Kutta Implicit Smoother (RK/IMPLICIT) enables using high CFL numbers of the order of 1000 for both the N-S equations and the turbulence model equations. We present the equations and present turbulent solutions for both flows about wings and plumes.
