Abstract

Combined treatment with oral isoprinosine and intrathecal interferon alpha is considered to be the treatment of choice in subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). We report the case of a 13-year-old SSPE patient who deteriorated over a 17-month period despite the early and continuous recommended treatment.
