N2 - Cylindrical FDTD schemes are useful for avoiding 'staircasing' approximations found in Cartesian modeling. Conventionally, schemes of this type are of (2; 2) order of accuracy. A recently introduced spectral methodology, combined with the modified equation approach, is applied for the analysis of existing cylindrical schemes as well as for the synthesis of new nonstandard and high order ones.
