Abstract

Following a recent analysis on correlations between Schwinger terms and the structure of the energy-density operator, it is shown that whenever the local generalization of the Heisenberg equations of motion for the generators of the internal symmetry group holds, then possible q-number Schwinger terms in equal time commutators involving current divergences and current components vanish. This fact, in conjunction with related results, may be an indication that equal-time commutators between spatial current components are even more singular than suspected.
