Consolidation of the 6X6 TD Vector Wave Equation into a 3X3 Complex Set on a Single FD Grid

Abstract

The set of six scalar Maxwell's time domain equations are consolidated in this work into two 3X3 decoupled complex sets (5). Each one of the two sets describes one (of two) newly defined vector fields, denoted E L and E R , respectively. Only one of these fields is needed for the solution of an entire electromagnetic problem, at the cost of being complex rather than real time domain quantity.
