This new procedure has been implemented using Polymath{\texttrademark} and MATLAB{\textregistered} for the design of a heat exchanger and tubular reactor. It is shown that there is no simple relationship between the magnitude of the uncertainties and the overdesign needed; thus the use of the systematic procedure is recommended.",
