Abstract
Young Israeli soldiers, being in late adolescence, are preoccupied with the process of forming their identities; at the same time they find themselves in a very unique, and restrictive setting - military service. Some soldiers, while trying to find a compromise between solutions to these contradictory demands, develop crisis situations. A binary division in adolescent problems - between identity and authority - allows us to better understand the specific interaction between the Israeli adolescent and the miliatry service, and contributes to the therapeutic process.
