Abstract
In conjunction with treatment of the turbulent medium as a Maxwellian fluid, in which eddy stresses may undergo relaxation, an experiment is suggested which would make it possible to investigate the effect of relaxation on the response of the system to a given external perturbation. A model problem is calculated at constant viscosity and relaxation time. The results point to the feasibility of detecting this effect and indicate the principal parameters of the test equipment that should be used.
