Abstract

This article describes a special application of the microcomputer for small- or large-group instruction: Computer-Guided-Teaching (CGT). This application saves teacher time and effort in lesson preparation and largely enhances and improves class presentation. Effective teaching strategies incorporated into CGT programs are discussed and their effectiveness for learning is supported by research. The concept is illustrated by a detailed description of a CGT lesson in formal geometry.
