Abstract

An asymptotic solution for complex source beam (CSB) scattering by an infinite impedance plane is presented. Special emphasis is given to the surface wave excitation and phenomenology, and to the conditions (beam direction and collimation) to enhance this contribution. This problem is studied as a preliminary study for the analysis of CSB scattering by an impedance wedge. The accuracy of the asymptotic solution is verified via comparison with an exact numerical integration of the Sommerfeld integral.
