Abstract

This study included important variables of left ventricular ejection fraction, arrhythmias, and heart rate variability-factors generally not included in other studies on gender and prognosis after AMI. Posthospital cardiac mortality after AMI is influenced primarily by the degree of cardiac dysfunction and known risk factors and is independent of gender.
