Abstract

The safe and stable control of modern large-scale wide-area power systems is quite important for the economical operation of power systems. Recently, it has received much research attention. In this paper, we aim to give a survey on the communication and control of wide-area power systems. Communication constraints, NCS modeling of wide-area power systems and stability analysis and coordinated control of wide-area power systems are discussed. Finally, some possible future research directions are pointed out.
