Abstract
Contemporary studies on television history tend to limit their scope to the national level. A study of European television networks leads one to question the relevance of such limitation in scale, as it shows evidence of the importance of transnational processes in the history of television channels, on a technical level, as well as in the fields of programming and professional frameworks.
