Coherent multi-pattern correlator and all-optical equalizer enabling simultaneous equalization, wavelength conversion and multicasting

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a tunable and reconfigurable optical correlator in conjugation with coherent detection to simultaneously search multiple patterns in BPSK/QPSK symbols at both 20 Gbaud and 31Gbuad symbol rates. We also demonstrated simultaneous equalization and 3-fold multicasting of coherent QPSK/8PSK signals after transmitting through 25-km SMF-28 fiber, in one system.
