Abstract

This article represents an attemptto develop an integrated overall framework which will enable us to broaden considerably the current conception of computer-managed instruction (CMI). CMI is viewed as an integral part of the whole educational system, rather than merely as a tool for supporting management processes or functions withinthe school associated with computer-assisted instruction. An overall integrative framework is suggested, enabling us to utilize CMI not only as part of the school’s overalladministrative system, but also as an integral part of the entire educational system and its external environment, by virtue of its integration with its overall management information system.
