Abstract
The charge transfer from TiO2 into adsorbed benzene diazonium compounds during electrochemical deposition of organic molecules was studied. Cyclic voltammetry, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, contact potential difference (CPD) and surface photovoltage spectroscopy measurements were performed for the study. The potential of maximum electron transfer was found to depend on the dipole moment of the benzene compound. It was also observed that the Ti signal did not vanish completely after the deposition, indicating that the deposited organic layer was extremely thin.
