Abstract
Plastic hollow fibers and the layers deposited on their walls were analyzed. FITR analysis showed that the fiber is transmitting similar IR spectral range as air (2.5-12 μm). Employing Auger analysis it was shown that the upper layer consists of the compound AgI (x≤1) where x varied with the depth of the layer. SEM analysis showed that the fiber that got layers which have finer grains structure transmits more CO2 laser energy (λ = 10.6 μm) than the fiber with layers which have coarse grain structure.
