N2 - We study classically the problem of two relativistic particles with an invariant Duffing-like potential which reduces to the usual Duffing form in the nonrelativistic limit. We demonstrate, by means of computer calculations, the onset of chaos and the existence of a strange attractor and a limiting hyperbolic motion in the presence of driving forces and dissipation. The chaotic behavior of the position variable is reflected in chaos in the time of occurrence of the corresponding events. Thus, spacetime may be chaotic.
