Abstract

It was possible to obtain significant hemodynamic measurements, flow rate, size of the stenosis and the pressure gradient across the stenosis in the external iliac artery in patients suffering from stenotic vascular disease. These patients usually underwent angiography as a routine procedure prior to operative considerations. These angiographic studies were also used for flow measurement without any further inconvenience to the patient, thus supplying very important information to the clinician regarding blood flow rate to the contralateral as well as the symptomatic bad extremity.
