Abstract

Telecobalt irradiation of the CNS during the course of a leukosis was carried out with 34 children. The total dose ranged from 2400 to 2700 rad. Out of the 20 children who were prophylactically irradiated after the first hematological remission only 5 suffered from Meningosis Leukemia (M.I.). Three children irradiated after the first hematological recurrence have had no M.I. The favorable influence of prophylactic CNS irradiation with simultaneous intrathecal MTX thrapy is confirmed.
