Abstract
A patient who underwent elective haemorrhoidectomy for symptomatic haemorrhoidal disease is presented. Microscopic examination of the tissue showed basaloid (cloacogenic) carcinoma, which was completely excised. The patient has no signs of recurrent disease several months after operation. Histopathological examination of all excised haemorrhoids is recommended.
