Abstract

It is suggested that the inequality mB>32mM is a rigorous result in quantum chromodynamics. The analog for a (q1qN) baryon in SU(N) is mB>(12N)mM. The inequality is proved for weak coupling and a version of the strong-coupling expansion where a separation Hq1q2q3=H12+H23+H31 of the problem can be achieved. Implications for quantum chromodynamics and composite models are briefly discussed.
