Abstract
This paper introduces a methodology for automating database construction in which Problem Statement Language (PSL) statements are translated into Data Definition Language (DDL) statements of a Data Base Management System (DBMS). These two commercially available software tools, when linked together, encompass the database construction life cycle from requirement specification to implementation of a target database system via the DBMS software.
