Assessing Pain in a Noninvasive Manner by Measuring Changes in the Microcirculation

Abstract

We propose a method for quantitative assessment of pain, by analyzing hemodynamic patterns with a non-invasive sensor measuring the dynamic light scattering from the skin. The results corresponded to changes in pain reported by subjects.
