Abstract
Most previous reports considered articular cartilage fractures an inseparable part of traumatic osteochondral injuries of the knee joint. Although the mechanism of injury is the same, articular cartilage fractures are a distinct entity with different diagnostic criteria, fragmental fate and method of treatment. Three demonstrative cases are presented and the pathogenetic, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of articular cartilage fractures are discussed herein.
