Abstract

Megacystis microcolon intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMIHS) is a rare syndrome. The condition is uniformly fatal and comprises intestinal obstruction and microcolon and a giant urinary bladder. High-resolution ultrasound is capable of identifying fetal abnormalities in the prenatal stage. The authors report a case of MMIHS in which the antenatal ultrasound findings included polyhydramnion, megacystis and bilateral hydronephrosis.
