Abstract
A new three-dimensional model of the erect penis was developed to obtain knowledge on the structural stresses developing within the penis during erection. The biomechanical model was shown to have the ability to acquire data characterizing the internal stress state in the penis during erection. The model provided a different perspective on the mechanical factors active during erection and enabled relation of these data with different penile pathologies.
